The Idol, a series forecasting the events of a beautiful young woman in the spotlight, is co-written by Abel Tesfaye, or “The Weeknd” and Sam Levinson (creator of Euphoria). The singer, new to the world of acting, also received guidance from previous nightlife entrepreneur, Reza Fahim, in terms of producing the scenes of which dealt with the party scene.
More importantly, Lily Rose Depp semi-stepped out of character and back into her own shoes. While she remains an anticipated vision to see in real life being the idol she is, you can never take Chanel out of the woman.
Looking back at all of her greatest fashion moments, she confidently remains loyal to the French house. “Chanel is the first word I learned how to read,” Depp proposes. Karl Lagerfeld, the late designer behind the brand’s timeless, doll-like collections, made her model career feel all too real as the runway bride in the spring/summer 2017 couture show.
Put her in tweed and pearls, and there was no going back after her first appearance with Chanel for the Métiers d’Art Show in 2015.
Flash forward to the very last event Depp redefined the glory of Chanel, the Cannes Film Festival, she combined the 90s and Christy Turlington into a blend of loose and body-hugging sentiments. A low, mildly-kept bun with framing pieces balanced out her cupcake-formed dress- a black sequined Chanel short dress with a turquoise delicate flower on the lining of the strapless top, and a lace fringe to take it one step further. Sheer opera gloves and gossamer-thin tights brought the classiness that comes with her name; while the sequins unveiled the inevitable “Jocelyn” side to her famed life.
