Take notes! This final issue of the 2023 season is packed with advice on what it means to “bloom where you’re planted”, coming up with a holiday bucket list, drafting the cover star’s legacy she wants to leave behind, her experiences with styling fashion shows, and all the more.
Maddy Sloaf is a woman of great demand. We understand why even more after getting to create first hand with the aspiring creative director and model herself.
Her time as a stylist is long-lived for only being twenty-one-years old.
From head to toe, she decorated the model cast of last year’s annual fashion show here in Pittsburgh. This year, her role overlooks the entirety of the show and she will be doing more than just styling the outfits. Put her in anywhere, and she will do everything she needs to and more.
We call it the Maddy touch!
“My favorite part of styling the fashion shows I have been a part of so far is getting to explore new fashions and experiment with clothing and styles I don’t normally get to. I love the creative freedom and expression the job provides me with. There is also no feeling more rewarding than making someone feel beautiful and confident through an outfit – clothing has power.”
She started her fashion career early in New York City with Tom Ford.
“Hosting a crowd at a museum turned her into a real life vision of art. She was a talking statue for the power of clothes and the power of fashion- a sentiment we both wholeheartedly reinforce and believe in,” the Editor-in-Chief puts out there.
Sloaf tells her point of view, “I was so excited going into my shoot. I was excited about the clothes, mostly, being able to wear something fun and beautiful. Being in front of the camera comes naturally to me and I loved bringing your creative vision to life. I thought I would be nervous and timid, but, even with a crowd at the art museum, my anxiety melted away into the clothes and the moment. It was so much fun.”
