Oscar’s Predictions Are No Surprise With Some Hollywood Endings

It is a Hollywood ending for cinema and the Oscars.

In the early stages of this prestigious award called the “Oscar”, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences decided an award would be created to encourage higher quality production and acting.

Their logic created a chain reaction of blockbusters for 97 years!

MGM art director, Cedric Gibbons, sketched a figure of a knight holding a sword standing in front of a reel of film. His imagination became a well-known symbol. The only difference today is that the reel is now underneath the feet of the knight figure.

The suspense of the presentation is secured by the sealed-envelope system to keep the anticipation high for guests and viewers.

Attendance at the ceremony is by invitation only.

Categories were slowly introduced into the pool like ‘Documentaries’ in 1941.

Predictions for this year’s winners include Wicked, Dune: Part Two, and Emilia Pérez, who may just break Netflix history.

Non-English films are chronicled to receive less representation across the board, but Pérez is re-writing this story.

If all momentum continues from ten nominations at the Cannes Film Festival and the Golden Globes to six mentions on the Oscars shortlist, an Oscar is not too far away.

Netflix also may just outrace the “Grandfather of Production”, Universal Pictures.

March 2, 2025 is the official date for the 97th Oscars.
