Empathy Turns Into Project Beat Hunger For Bella Hadid

Bella Hadid is the first to discuss her deep feelings for others and assist those in need. Raising awareness to causes has been a part of the Hadid family for years. Mother, Yolanda Hadid, actively takes part in The Global Lyme Alliance Gala each year. Yolanda helped raise a total of $2.5 million at the New York City event. From an extremely young age, Yolanda and ex-husband, Mohamed Hadid, taught their children the depths of giving back. With such an upbringing, they were born with a capability to easily provide for others who can not do the same. Instead of simply handing over millions, the model brought together a special project during quarantine with her team and Chrome Hearts.

While at home at her mother’s house, Hadid took her feelings and turned them into a meaningful duty. Sneak peaks on her Instagram teased her 37.5 million followers as she glistened in the images with tie-dye shirts. To make her idea come to life in a timely fashion and input a more personal touch, she custom designed the shirts that would be sold on the Chrome Hearts site. Not a factory needed for this swift undertaking. During a pandemic, that is the easiest method to make a creative change in the world.

Eight months into the pandemic, Bella Hadid allowed herself to fully process and feel her emotions such as “panic and sadness”. With such devastation infiltrating the world, the supermodel desired to put her energy into one such project to change the lives of many. In her explanation of the shirt creation, she included a heartfelt message on Instagram. Acknowledging that she is lucky to be “healthy, safe, fed, and loved”, but other times she felt completely “overwhelmed” knowing families felt the exact opposite. Unfortunately, the emotions heightened for many, but were always present.

Chrome Hearts, personalized by the Stark Family, focuses on justice and a proper working environment. Manufacturing PPE with proper resources and protecting their health and well-being of employed workers are two of the main priorities of the respected company.

Funds from her tie-dye shirts go directly to Feeding America and their cause. The collaboration led to a healthy income of raised money to feed those who suffer from hunger all over the world. Feeding America is a nation-wide, non-profit organization that entails two-hundred food banks. With that amount of spaces for donations, leaders are able to feed more than forty-six million individuals. From food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and other community-based agencies, the non-profit is made up of nearly two million volunteers per month. Forbes ranked Feeding America as the second largest United States charity due to income.

One hundred percent of the funds go into the Feeding America name and Hadid requests that she matches the total. Such a selfless act calls for recognition of prestigious kindness and empathy.
