Healthcare Professional, Brianne Helfrich, Doubles as a Successful Business Owner of “Helfrich Collective”

Rare feels like an efficient way to describe the mature and disciplined Brianne Helfrich. While obtaining her masters in Healthcare Ethics, she is hands-on with her personal clothing business, Helfrich Collective, of which specializes in coordinating sweatsuits.

In a world of distractions, she is recognizable.

“The Wellness Cafe” host, Trinity Tondeleir, spotlighted the worthy Helfrich in an hour long conversation about her ability to consult each arena of her life, maintain healthy relationships, her advice on becoming an entrepreneur, and the nitty-gritty details of what the behind the scenes looks like for the production of her releases. If you have not yet, please give the episode a read on the way to work, school, the gym, etc., you will gather valuable information whether you are a student or business owner. Simply anyone could listen to the pair talk; they provide an honest amount of guidance for daily life occurrences in general whether that deals with others or themselves.

Brianne hosts her own podcast as well, “Welcome to the Collective”, of which she also adds to her quite diverse plate. However, she does not look at these delegations in her life as “obligations”, she genuinely is excited about each process in her life. Just from hearing her talk in her solo episode about her life updates and earning a part-time job at the hospital as a unit secretary in the Cardiothoracic Surgical Unit in Pittsburgh, where she is earning her masters degree (The University of Pittsburgh), speaks volumes on her optimism for her future and her current decisions.

Two of her days will now be occupied by two, twelve-hour shifts in the hospital, completing school work, managing HC, and seeking time for her personal life. She truly does it all.

More on her business that catapulted from ground-zero at the start of quarantine to now:

HC supplies originally sourced and produced sweatshirts, sweatpants, and sweatshirts for any gender. Ranging from around $50 to $70, the brand opens your horizon to what your body deserves to feel comfortable in. Your skin wants soft; HC creates soft. Your body wants loose, but complimentary; HC creates an optimal design. Your mind wants aesthetic; HC creates eye-catching pieces.

With family as her main source of “employers”, she operates a majority of the business herself and does not rely on employees. Making it even more personal for her customers, she customizes each order to describe just how much each individual stands out to her. When she is in Pittsburgh, and not back home in her garage with her family and boyfriend packaging orders, she tells her mom exactly what to provide her beloved consumers.

More recently, after considering the business’ standpoint, she hired a graphic designer, Sarah (@saarahgraphics on Instagram), now one of her best friends, and an intern for marketing.

Unlike a majority of other small businesses, the founder of HC makes it a notion for the company to give back. Each collection connects to a different organization or non-profit; she recycles ten percent of her earnings. Mainly, The Canadian Mental Health Association and The National Alliance on Mental Health receive this honorable donation in response to Helfrich’s personal ties to dealing with mental health and the obstacles it implements in her own life.

Even more donations are occurring over on HC; after ten hoodies are sold, one is donated to the WIN House Edmonton.

As you can evidently understand, the owner is all for creating safe spaces for everyone to know and to experience.

CEO of ÜP had the ultimate pleasure of talking over Zoom with the lovely as ever, Helfrich! “As someone who is quite new to the space of E-commerce and branding a business for themselves, I felt more elevated than ever after talking to Brianne,” Beil inputs, “she had such a visual presence to her that heightened her business even more so from her podcast I listened to prior to speaking to her personally. She never stopped smiling, I couldn’t either.”

More often than not we undermine our success; however, this woman makes it a rational point to celebrate just how special each peak is. “My friend sent me a picture of someone wearing a hoodie in a store in New York City, a random stranger, and I thought to myself how wild that is that someone I don’t even know is supporting HC,” Helfrich remarks.

Not only do her committed customers invite the clothing brand into their lives, but Buzzfeed featured HC in an article that discusses “35 Things To Buy On Cyber Monday”. Now not only has Buzzfeed discussed her brand in admiration once, but twice just six days ago including a statement about the “trendy sweatsuit that’ll serve as a subtle reminder that “it’s not that serious” and you can conquer whatever the day throws at you (even if your day only consists of watching Netflix on the couch).”

“I told her I am buying my own sweatshirt as soon as we ended the call,” ÜP founder promised.
