“The shoot was fun and carefree, just the way I envision a country music video to be,” our cover model provides her perspective in front of the camera, “ I am also infatuated with all things denim, so I really enjoyed the effortless fashion of this issue.”
While she is not a die-hard country fan, the idea of throwing on some boots and denim in the middle of a farm to commemorate the feelings of summer was a no brainer.
Summer is a specific feeling, whether that be the blues or the best of the best.
Walking onto the farm land where horses ran freely and the air felt cleaner, there were visions of what summer should look like.
There were also the occasional moments of uncertainty with the environment that required bonding with the horse before anything and scouting out the land for picture perfect podiums.
This is where Stoke’s healthy optimism came in handy.
Instead of counting up all of the not-so-good times, she grows more and more confident that “everything works out the way it should”.
Coming from a divorced family, you can also understand why this personality trait is as important to her as being kind, giving, and reliable.
“I thought my family had started to shrink and not grow: two homes, each with one parent and two siblings.”
Yet, that was not the case she soon found out for ten-year-old self.
Preceding her younger siblings, Luke and Maeve, that older sibling responsibility doubled.
Following a successful fashion show back in early April, she is reminded of where it all started: watching her mom.
“I have always looked up to the women in my family. My mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother have all managed to prioritize their family and their careers simultaneously, and I hope to follow in their footsteps.”
For Stokes, it is her current inputs that will curate the output she craves to show her very own children how possible their dreams are.
