Sitting front row to your own child’s first fashion show at sixteen years old may just be a core memory for basketball star, Dwayne Wade, and actress, Gabrielle Union. Dwayne’s daughter and Union’s step-daughter, Zaya Wade, strolled the runway for the first time in honor of Miu Miu’s Fall/Winter 2023-2024 collection in a thick knit, three-piece co-ord. Olive-green in color, the cardigan, sweater, and matching skirt complimented the new focus on expanding color palettes for the colder seasons.
Walking in slick caramel pumps (and a brown leather handbag), the young trailblazer exuded obvious confidence that in turn hyped up her father even more! Together, Dwayne and Gabrielle matched in all black looks- including coordinating sunglasses.
“To witness your grace is something @zayawade. I am proud of you,” Wade commented on his daughter’s Instagram post showing her encounter with the conceptual designer of all parts within the industry, Pat McGrath, as well as a warm embrace with her father following the finale.
Another Instagram post came through congratulating his daughter… “She’s arrived @miumiu” and “I’m not crying, you are”.
Wade turned the front row at a fashion show into the sidelines of a basketball court, he provided a proud encouraging voice for the daughter walking in Paris and alongside Ethel Cain, Mia Goth, and Emma Corrin. Known for recruiting “It-girls”, the Italian fashion house keeps a certain element of surprise- always!
After being granted a legal name and gender change in February by a Los Angeles County judge, Zaya now accepts every opportunity she always dreamed of with full confidence, and it shows on stage.
It is only right to end the night with a celebratory dinner and a full belly. Showing up best dressed will remain the next best tip to taking hold of any room. A grey suit from the brand of the day, a distressed top and mini skirt set, and a blazer sealed the deal. Keeping the monotone theme rolling, she paired the look with black leather loafers, black sunglasses, and a white quilted Miu Miu handbag.
She was met with stars such as Venus Williams, Poppy Delevingne, Nicola Peltz Beckham, and Ziwe.
You could say the sixteen-year-old model just found her calling.
