How Ryan Reynolds Honored Robin Williams Legacy

Bring Change to Mind chose Ryan Reynolds, established actor and early film producer, as the recipient of Robin Williams Legacy of Laughter award. The organization focuses on gaining and giving knowledge surrounding mental health through said fundraisers and donations by celebrities like Taylor Swift and Ina Garten.

He extends his appreciation, “His legacy speaks for itself. I think we can all kind of hang our hats on his… the laughter he left behind, the joy, the body of work, But I think the thing that distinguishes Robin more so than anything is his humanity. And I think that that’s what is generating a night like this. It’s a lot of people coming together to talk about something that isn’t just their film career. It’s something else. Something bigger.”

Walking up on stage for the 11th annual Revels and Revelations fundraiser event at City Winery in New York City, Reynolds permanently affirmed his fashion influence amongst men and his dubbed “hot university lecturer” position on the totem pole (thought of by British GQ).

Suits are difficult to differentiate; they are known for the classic palette of black and white, navy blue, or grey. Designers recently traded in each of those expectations for colors, textures, and decorated suits that reinvent such a staple for events like galas, weddings, or even interviews.

GQ labels this particular style choice as “the one Fall suit every guy should own”.

Initiating the debrief of this suit, we decided it makes the most sense to first understand his seventies-based style that reflects that of a professor; correlating directly to the put-together, vintage appeal of his soft fabric choices and supply of flannel patterns.

You would think with a superstar salary, like many others, that he would attempt to go the route many celebrities with their foot in the door are going- bling. Instead of worrying about staying up on trends for the sake of pleasing others, he hones in on what differentiates his fashion identity without even trying, or maybe minimal effort compared to his casual slim-fit tees, khaki chinos, and Wrexham Football Club caps.

Adam Sandler settles in this category with his oversized tees and baggy basketball shorts that were popular in the early 2000s.

Rocking a Deadpool-simulated body means his suits are perfectly tailored to his stature, complementing his still-luscious hair and chiseled jawline. This olive-green number spoke to Robin Williams Dead Poet Society aesthetic. Juniper green jacket, trousers, and a third-party addition of a matching tie all coordinated with his brown Oxfords (a gift you should consider for a male in your life for the fast-approaching holidays).

Searching for handsome and approachable this fall? A dark olive green suit checks all of those boxes.

Todd Snyder, a New York-based menswear brand, connected the dots between Williams and Reynolds to master their youthful maturity with this one.

Thom Browne and Brunello Cucinelli are among the lines of which Reynolds respects and has curated a dear relationship with over the years.
