Change is not necessarily the most ideal situation for a human, but that is the cyclical reality for NFL players.
You play with a team one minute, and the next you could be a flight away playing in a different state.
Saquon Barkely, previous New York Giants running back and Penn State alum, is in the depths of the process with his precious family of four.
His wife, Anna Congdon, and their two young children, Jada and Saquon Jr. “S.J”, attended the NFL Honors to support Barkley as potential “Man of The Year” back in February. Reporting back to where magic happened for the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, the Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, Nevada hosted the greatest athletes of all time.
The actress, who found love with Saquon while at Penn State University, wore a Mirror Palais black silk slip dress with high-cuts and a low-back. Yves Saint Laurent wine-red, buckled heels complimented the gown perfectly.
Strong as ever, Saquon’s ties to the East Coast stem from a father who will not take off his Jets jersey no matter what team his son plays for (a jersey the player got for his dad as a gift).
“I probably never imagined myself playing for Philly six years ago, but I get to come back to Pennsylvania,” he laid out his thought pattern before transitioning from New York, “My family is from Pennsylvania, my lady, my kids, my Grandma, so we get to be even closer.”
Family first, football second.
However, the family man is “ready to compete” with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Jada, six-year-old daughter of Barkley, joined his press conference and even had a question for her dad: “Are we actually going to win now?,” she jokes.
For such a young life, her humor is beyond.
The first-class football organization has a strong-willed team and fan base who welcomed the player with wide open arms.
“Being in there for less than three hours, you can just feel the energy… they are motivated,” he describes from his brief stadium visit, “That’s refreshing- I can’t wait to be a part of that. I’m like a kid in a candy store.”
We are a little late to National Saquon Barkley Day, annually celebrated in Pennsylvania on March 14th, but we commend the past and the future the football star created through humble beginnings, dedication, and a little manifesting.
Driving to the Jets stadium with his dad for games and physically embodying the electric environment allowed Barkley to visualize his own next steps as a professional. He discusses this journey more in depth with Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chief’s premier tight-end, and Jason Kelce, former center for the Philadelphia Eagles, on the New Heights podcast.
“I’m tryna be what I’m destined to be,” the now Eagle player himself writes for his public announcement regarding the trade.
