Set up on a date, Christian McCaffrey, Sanfansico 49’ers running back, won over the model and former Miss America, Olivia Culpo, with a bouquet of flowers, humor, and extravagant kindness.
Four years later, McCaffrey got down on one knee to propose to Culpo on a roadtrip to Utah.
“He deserves an Oscar,” Culpo giggles after thinking about how surprised she was when he popped the question, “He was so good at convincing me he wasn’t ready.”
Little did she know, there was a desert reserved for their special night; filled to the brim with flowers and a sunset ambience might we add.
Mr. and Mrs. McCaffrey enjoyed their big day in the North East, specifically in Rhode Island (Olivia Culpo’s hometown).
Ocean House, a mansion-sized resort in Watch Hill, held both sides of the family and friends.
Before the many, many guests arrived, the two made sure to keep it intimate, peaceful, and full of gratitude with a private dinner with their immediate families before the welcome party.
Culpo repeats that the only thought going through her head was how grateful she was to have everyone they love in one room.
As far as a wedding dress went, Dolce & Gabbana collaborated with the model and her fashionable classic style.
Stefano and Domenico presented the final product to Culpo after design meetings together; this included long-sleeves, crewneck cape, voluminous skirt, and a buttoned-lined back.
Her one request: “I want it to compliment me, not overpowering.”
Following suit with her simplicity theme, she opted out of mascara, lip liner, and eyebrow makeup.
McCaffrey fell harder than ever before seeing her walk down the aisle and could not help but blurt out “I do” before the ring exchange.
Now Rhode Island is even more of a wedding destination hot spot.
