Michael Kors’ Spin-off of the 50s During NYFW

New York Fashion Week felt a touch of the seventies through statement coats and embellished lace dresses on behalf of Michael Kors.

Rich in history, Barneys set the mood for the Mediterranean romance-inspired runway.

Blending romanticism from the 1950s with the sleek simplicity of the 1990s feels very MK-coded; extending that comparison to Sofia Richie’s personal style that sold many young women on structured, elegant pieces.

Going on thirty-five years, Kors collaborates with Italian artisans and craftsmen to formulate his signature looks: texture play, embroideries, black and white color schemes, florals and fringes, graphic necklines, and other obvious elements.

“Understated opulence,” he describes the full essence.

Part of the designer’s charm is his strong ability to engage the guests and asking celebrities to walk for him like K-pop star, Dahyun.
