Existence is a fortune that is quite often forgotten. Time is a stamp on every single one of us, it is inevitable to live through time. But, Chadwick Boseman showed the world what living is. He embodied more than just success and self satisfaction. Moments where he would just go out in his city of Los Angeles and give back to his community are the parts of him that people will never forget. The man is truly unforgettable.
He would have been turning forty-four years old if stage three colon cancer did not take his life. Even along the four year battle, he managed to do so much with his body and mind. Although they were both giving up on him, he never gave up on life. The battle remained private over the years which is a testament to his character. Boseman provided us with a timeless film, Black Panther. Knowing his time on Earth was not much longer, he decided to end his career by playing King T’Challa. First appearances in Marvel movies as T’Challa were in 2016 with Captain America: Civil War, 2018 with Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther, and then 2019 with Avengers: Endgame. Director, Ryan Coogler, puts in his remembrance of Boseman that “he always had clear thoughts on how he wanted to portray the character, including his accent.” Every detail of the man’s work proved thoughtful and respective towards others.
Marvel honored the actor through their upcoming montage opening in Black Panther. Their birthday present to him was an alteration to the original introduction. DisneyPlus aired the new montage on November 29th, Chadwick’s birthday.
Victoria Alonso, EVP of Marvel Studios, announced that they will not be digitally building Boseman. “There’s only one Chadwick and he’s not with us.” The statement made it clear that the King was not only royalty in films, but in real life too, and there is no way to honor him in the right way.
On Twitter, Marvel Entertainment shared the montage with a caption of “Long live the King. #WakandaForever.” Chadwick’s spirit is not comparable to that of any others and Marvel recognizes that. Fans and Marvel both actively acknowledged the actor’s life on his birthday with many posts, video shares, and other social media messages. Worldwide the actor’s deeds and successes were on display for everyone to admire his integrity.
Many instances have occurred that prove his charitable character. A priority for him was to visit boys and girls who were struggling with terminating illnesses. Donations and quality time were his form of giving back and the children were just grateful to be in the superhero’s presence. Also adding to his list that he looks out for his adult peers too- he used his salary to boost Sienna Miller, his co-star on 21 Bridges, when she was denied the amount she asked for. He told her she deserved the earnings. No bad bone in his body could ever be detected!
One of Chadwick Boseman’s peers, Denzel Washington, spoke on his character and added he was a “gentle soul”. Washington took part in a virtual panel with Barry Levinson, a filmmaker, at the Toronto International Film Festival. Denzel opened up to the crowd and told them he cried when he watched Black Panther for the first time. That is exactly what Chadwick’s talent does to others. His immense passion to fully engage in his work and his time with others are two parts of his being that his fans, family, and friends admire.
