Mulleavy Sisters Know It All

Rodarte: a multi-artistic approach to describe fashion, landscape, art, film, poetry, culture, and music.

Radarte: a t-shirt and casual wear collection with a play on the brand name and the word “rad”.

Kate and Laura Mulleavy founded both businesses in hopes to expand consumers’ views. Their resume reaches great length as they are also writers, directors, and costume designers. Woodshock appeared at the Venice film festival that occurs annually. Kirsten Dunst, an American actress, became a part of the sister’s lives as she played a major role in their production.

Dunst took action on Instagram to promote their current collection. The women inputed their part in feminist activism by highlighting other special women. Each piece was dedicated and worn by a woman of choice who inspires them in all areas of life. She poses in an elegant gown dressed in pearls and stacked in tool material. Similar style gloves accompany the focal point but are made out of white tool instead. A fitting combination for Spring ahead.

Mulleavy’s truly do it all with a full stock of dresses, tops, bottoms, and accessories. Prices reasonably stand at $500 to $3,000 with purposefully made fabric for the long-term. A majority of the material features a floral print that demonstrates the sister’s styles. A mid-century romantic look can be made with any of their final products.

Models from Meghan Roche to Bella Hadid have walked in their shows in past seasons. Fashion icons like Rowan Blanchard and Tracee Ellis Ross have sat front row for their shows. To say the least, they are known greatly in a wide variety of their industry.

The sisters stand out amongst the crowd with their ability to remain authentic in the face of contemporary fashion. They stay grounded within the roots of romantic and old-fashion details.

Knoll beautifully summarizes the brand: “Winner of the prestigious 2009 CFDA Award for Womenswear Design, Rodarte is known for exquisite craftsmanship, precise detailing, and creative innovation. Recent runway collections for the LA-based design team have referenced disparate themes, such as Japanese horror films, Gordon Matta Clark, Boris Karloff as Frankenstein, and California Condors.”
