Marvel May Just Double As A Match-Maker After These 5 Couples

2002

Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst

It all started back in 2002 with Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst for the original “Spider-Man” movie. The two were independently chosen to fulfill the role of “Peter Parker” and “Mary Jane “MJ” Watson”, but the chemistry was too alive to deny. Sam Raimi recalled that the relationship was short-lived and kept on the down low; “They apparently began dating with each other, I think, in the middle of the first movie … although I didn’t know it at the time. They eventually broke up before the second movie,” and opens up with his original concerns that they would not have that same spark they initially felt for the first movie, but he rebuts, “it was just me worrying”. The two now share that romantic history, but are presently close friends with such an iconic past together.

2011

Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence

Possibly the most down-to-Earth human alive, Jennifer Lawrence, and co-star, Nicholas Hoult, featured in “X-Men: First Class”, made their debut as a couple in 2011. For five solid years, the two were a masterpiece to the public. Lawrence played “Raven/Mystique” and Hoult fulfilled his role as “Hank McCoy/Beast”. Throughout their intimate longevity, both stayed put as their character in several further “X-Men” sequels. In 2014, the relationship morphed into a mutually platonic friendship.

2011

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively

We all know and love them: Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds.

We have “Green Lantern” to thank for such a long-term, respectable marriage. It is a rare truth that Hollywood couples make it through such a grewling industry together, but these two as one are a testament to the opposite of this theory.

As “Hal Jordan or ‘Green Lantern’”, Reynolds later earned a love interest in 2010, Blake Lively as “Carol Ferris” in the film.

There was a cross-over, however, at that point in time; Reynolds announced his divorce with Scarlett Johannson and Lively was dating her “Gossip Girl” co-star, Penn Badgley.

Around a year later, in October of 2011, Lively and Reynolds confirmed their new found love. With a marriage and three kids later, the two together are at the very top of Hollywood’s greatest couples produced through the making of a movie.

2012

Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone

After the success of the first “Spider-Man”, Stan Lee decided it was time for not one, but two renditions: two of “The Amazing Spider-Man”.

Andrew Garfield made his superhero debut as “Peter Parker or ‘Spider-Man’” and Emma Stone was “Gwen Stacy”.

In one of Garfield’s first interviews for the press, he told Teen Vogue that he “woke up” when she walked into the room for her screen test.

Later, he called her a “shot of espresso” with her invigorating enthusiasm.

“Throughout shooting, it was wild and exciting. I couldn’t help but try to stay with her, keep pace with her, and not let her get away,” Garfield elaborates. That’s right ladies, do not settle; if he is meant to be, he will make every effort to do so.

After 2015, they were officially just healthy friends!

2021

Tom Holland and Zendaya

And, now, another Spider-Man domino effect is in full swing for Tom Holland and Zendaya. It has ultimately sparked a theory that the movie is destined to birth a real-life relationship between the actor of “Spider-Man” and the actress who plays MJ or Gwen. Holland and Zendaya are on fire right now; Holland jokes about the first time meeting her was not his “smoothest move”, but she fell hard for him. The photo of them kissing at a red light in LA made the official mark in their genuine love for one another. Holland told GQ for his Man of The Year issue that it caught them off-guard and uncomfortable with the privacy invasion; “It’s our story. And we’ll talk about what it is when we’re ready to talk about it together.” Today, they are breaking the internet with their passionate love story and social media posts for each other. Holland is known to post individual pictures of his girl-friend and rave about the woman of everyone’s dreams
