People were surprised it took this long for the man who owns the “Captain America” title to own the “Sexiest Man Alive” title in real life. He is a superhero on-and-off-screen in the ways he listens to others and makes fans feel heard. Attending charity events and supporting philanthropic activities makes for a well-rounded man; including, his efforts to raise $80,000 for Christopher’s Haven. Children who fall victim to illness feel nearly saved by the superhero when he comes to each and every one of their rooms to pay them a visit of a lifetime.
His secret weapon to his looks: his mom, he admits. “This is something she can really brag about,” he laughs when People asks what this issue means to him. If there is one thing this world needs more of, it is more of Mr. Evans’ humor. He turned an issue about appearance into a deeper conversation about his contemplation with going through with the Marvel role, and being stuck in that “big budget, big box office” sector of film that is known as fantasy-like adventure.
“You’d be a real jerk to not enjoy it,” he makes clear when asked about the intensity of his training for this taxing role. “You get paid to take care of yourself and I mean this is what you do as a kid, you run around your backyard and pretend to be a comic book character. I mean so it’s been one of the greatest choices of my life being able to dive in and prepare for these movies. I mean they’re challenging, but the beauty is these movies are great.”
Marvel may be gracing us with yet another angelic on-screen presence from the actor in the film, Doctor Strange 2. Only time will tell!
This “road to the cool table” is one way to describe how his younger self would feel about this accomplishment, but he makes sure the world knows he was “certainly not at it”. It is hard to imagine a world in which Chris Evans is not the coolest person to walk into a room, truly. He is known to have this captivating, vivacious energy about him that transforms his looks into a much more powerful and moving subject.
The same man who is known as “America’s Ass” is also a hopeless romantic, as touched upon within his interview with People. Noting that tradition is a part of life he does not want to skip. Constantly being surrounded by newly weds, nieces and nephews, and other products of two humans matching each other in the sense of who they are as an individual and who they want to be in a partnership.
“I love, love,” he says at the end of the day.
As most of us know, Paul Rudd was last year’s feature for this specific issue, so he cracks yet another joke but to all 18 million of his followers: “Thanks @people!! I think we can all agree that it’s damn near impossible to follow in Paul Rudd’s footsteps in any capacity, but I’ll do my best.”
It is fair of People to voice on the cover that the “universe has spoken” in regards to fan’s advocating for Evans to sweep this title easily.
