A gem, like Jenna Samman, does the dream realm justice as she discusses what her most blown-up vision of life looks like.

Bouncing around the globe from house to house, real estate that you personally invest in, is her idea of luxury- how she described her time in Spain. Greece showed off its picturesque nature, New York City affirmed that “hustle” title, and Canada elevated her perspective on art. Places, people, pieces, each one has a certain role in creating a full circle between individual occurrences.

Samman’s outburst of calmness emphasized the color palette that Creative Director, Hannah Beil, matched. “It is all about the person on the front of that cover,” Beil, who doubles as the Founder of ÜP, confirms about the mission of this magazine, “I want to incorporate elements of what makes Jenna, Jenna, and I think that all came through with her first Old Hollywood look (mixed with florals that started even earlier in the 1920s), her second vibrant one-piece look with that twist of “different” from the “usual”, and her final crisp, silk white dress that wrapped up the rich aura of Samman.

“I am 50% Syrian, while the other half of me is a combination of Irish, English, Polish, and Russian. My dad is an immigrant from Jordan, with both his parents being from Syria. Although I do not speak Arabic, I do plan to learn when I am older. My ethnicities have a huge role in my life, especially when I am surrounded by family. I find myself more immersed in Syrian culture at home, since I frequently visit my Tete’s house (my grandma) and see many of my relatives in the summers.”

Ending off the interview with a bang and a half, a thorough run down on Rihanna’s Super Bowl LVII performance this year where she announced her pregnancy and made a return back on the stage after seven years. Many monumental moments were had, including the dressers in a uniform puffy look and Rihanna in her all red. For Samman, she fell even harder for “her solo moment at the end while singing Diamonds.”

Her quick recap: “I also love her red lip matching the red outfit, and how she stood out compared to the background dancers. The contrast of her red outfit with the white background dancers was such a statement on her part. Her hair was beautiful as well, with the slicked back pony and braids combination. Her attitude was amazing during the whole show and it was really down-to-earth of her to have her outfit half zipped down to embrace her post-baby belly.”

It was a wonderful surprise to Beil when she found out her cover star was also the one typically behind the camera. “Shooting the March Issue was a step outside my comfort zone. I love fashion and photography, but I have always been the one behind the camera rather than in front of it. This shoot gave me a glimpse of this industry that I have never had experience with before.”
